When you’re an artist creating for yourself, you please yourself first. But when you’re part of a team, a collaboration, not only do you have one filter to go through, but two (sometimes maybe even three). The positive side of any partnership: multiple opinions. You’re not on your own, banging your head against the desk, wondering if what you’re doing makes sense. The negative side of any partnership: multiple opinions. Sometimes following the lead of others when you yourself are unsure, not only creates more conflict, but furthers any kind of resolve.
